Educational Facilities & Environments

Senator Security share many of the core values within King’s College London’s Mission Statement… we employ the best people money can buy – training and equipping them well; we focus on knowledge transfer, learning and development; we strive for excellence in services delivery and we look for continuous improvement through regular meetings, dedicated account management and good communications… we talk to our clients and act upon their comments and observations.

King’s College London is one of England’s oldest and most prestigious university institutions: a multi-faculty research-led university college based in the heart of London with over 19,700 students, of whom more than 6,200 are postgraduates.

It is ranked as one of the world’s top 25 universities and is home to six Medical Research Council centres. King’s location is in the heart of London over several sites, many within historic Graded buildings and others within secure and sensitive areas. This environment requires an intimate understanding of the facilities management and organisational infrastructure of such a complex environment – visitors, sta, students, contractors all having to be monitored through our on-site 24hr monitoring suite. Mobile patrol of interior, terraces, roof access and perimeter areas of all sites is necessary to deter vagrants and be proactive in case of trespass, vandalism or threat.

Senator personnel are often the rst interaction a visitor may have so presentation and a knowledge of the facility is essential – our ‘front-of-house’ people are brand ambassadors for King’s College London; be this through manning reception desks, manned guarding, mobile patrols, key holding service or coordinating and collaborating with deliveries/collections, post and VIPs. Senator personnel also play a key role in planning and implementing special events, disaster recovery, evacuation, asset protection and public space surveillance. Liaison with the Facilities and Residential Services team, local residents/businesses, law enforcement etc. is a key role for our people – this close knit team works as an integrated and valued part of the KCL team; often undertaking tasks and roles not usual for a ‘normal’ security partner.

Steve Ball, Head of Security said “Senator provide around 4000 hours of security manning per week, giving essential cover to critical areas of the college and supplying a forward thinking solution to our security needs. The contract is exible and has the ability to work with our ever changing needs in order to provide a service above and beyond the agreed service levels required. They regularly achieve 95%-100% in KPI’s which is testament to the service provided.”
