Senator Security, the leading provider of manned guarding, key holding and CCTV remote monitoring services announced their support of the WPR KTM Junior Motocross Team at the opening round of the MXY2 Maxxis Motocross Championship at Canada Heights, near Swanley in Kent, yesterday.
Sean McGranaghan, Managing Director of Senator Security Services Limited, commented, “This is a great opportunity to support the development of the next generation of sports talent in the UK. The WPR KTM Junior Motocross Team has been established as an Academy to provide young motocross riders the environment, support and equipment needed to develop their skills and experience both on and off track – in many countries around the World there are organisations that support sports athletes from grass-roots level and we are delighted to be in a position to support this initiative here in the UK. Our head office is in Bromley so this event at Canada Heights is our ‘home race’ and it has been a perfect start to what promises to be a great year – all of us at Senator wish the riders and team a successful and safe year.”
The team’s riders are Michael Eccles and his younger cousin, Jordan, in their first year with this new team which is based in Chesterfield. Both riders will be riding specially prepared KTM motorcycles; Michael on a sx125cc KTM and Jordan on a sx85cc KTM. Neil Haslam of WPR added, “We are very pleased to have Senator Security involved and their commitment is very much appreciated. As we are, Senator is new to motocross so this is a significant day for UK motocross. With the team we have built, two talented riders and support from KTM and Senator we are in good shape to develop this program for the future.”
The team made their debut at the last round of the British Supercross Championship at the LG Arena, NEC, Birmingham where they raced to podium finishes before preparations began in the build up to Canada Heights. The team and riders will be competing in a number of Championships and events throughout 2012 including the European Motocross Championship, the Maxxis Motocross Championship, the Red Bull Pro Nationals and the Weston Beach Race at the end of the season prior to the Supercross Championship over the winter months.
