Senator supports SAFESTART for schools
Safe Start – Promoting safety through fun and learning in schools
Senator Security continue to support local communities as part of an ongoing Corporate and Social Responsibility program and have recently supported two schools – All Saints C of E Primary School, Horsham and St. Stephen’s Catholic Primary School, Welling, that have both introduced the SafeStart initiative.
SafeStart have looked at ways of teaching children safety values and can conclude that children learn much more easily when they are having fun. With this in mind SafeStart have produced excellent quality resources that are designed to captivate children’s attention, delivering vital safety messages in a fun and interactive way.
SafeStart’s main resource is a Safety CD-Rom that covers key elements of safety for children aged 5 to 11. It comprises of games covering road safety, Internet safety, anti-bullying, eco awareness and more. The teacher’s section has printable lesson plans associated with each game, printable activities and certificates for the children.
SafeStart have also produced safety posters and safety leaflets for parents and carers. The leaflets will be distributed to parents/carers of the children that attend the school.
