Bridgend; 6th June 2010: The Senator Security sponsored Over 45s International Wales team dominated the early play against England in Sunday’s game at Mathern FC and had several good chances to take the lead. Mark Jones had an early chance blocked and could well have had a hat trick but for some excellent goalkeeping from England’s Dave Leggett who was chosen as England’s ‘man of the match’. Craig Duggan won the Welsh award for some superb defending as England worked their way back into the game. They looked threatening on a number of occasions but despite going close the match ended goalless. The resulting penalty shoot out was won by Wales despite the referee disallowing Paul Averies ‘goal’ which hit the stantion at the back of the goal.
